As stupid as this picture is, sometimes it is exactly how I feel — and I fucking love it.
Maybe it’s because I’m a New Yorker born and raised. Maybe it’s because I’m a self-diagnosed obsessive compulsive. Or maybe, just maybe, it’s because I like to feel like I have a purpose. Whatever the reason, I’m always doing some sort of task that I’ve deemed important and necessary in my mind. Always looking for a way to better myself and create the perfect person that I envision.
I think we all have these ideals… well, OBVIOUSLY we do. Everyone loves making to-do lists (why do you think Buzzfeed is so weirdly popular all of a sudden?), and checking off things on them is oh so satisfying. I’m a big fan of lists and organization, and if we add some alphabetization in there then all is truly going to be right in the world. For the moment, that is, until I think of another huge task to accomplish.
With the start of the new year, I’m sure we all have some personal remodeling to do (nicely known as resolutions). In comparison to last year, I genuinely feel like a happier, better person who is on the path to doing what I want. Hopefully 2014 brings me, and you, closer to being perfect — at least for long enough to come up with some “late” resolutions.
